GreenFaith Africa Launches Women-Led Renewable Energy Advocacy in Tanzania
On March 3, 2025, the quiet village of Putini in Chongoleani Ward, located in Tanzania’s Tanga Region, became the vibrant heartbeat of a new movement for energy justice. GreenFaith Africa officially launched the Africa Women of Faith in Energy (AWFE) project, an initiative funded by Bread for the World to amplify the voices of grassroots, multi-faith women in fossil fuel impacted communities. This landmark event brought together women of Christian, Muslim, and Traditional faiths to share their lived experiences, explore clean energy alternatives, and advocate for justice-centered energy solutions.
