On 28 -29 October 2024, GreenFaith Nigeria hosted a multi-faith consultative Dialogue to evaluate intersections and alignment between the ETP, NDC, LT-LEDS and the IRP for just transition. It also identified recommendations for policy makers to enable a just and financed transition from fossil fuels to an equitable renewable-powered future in Nigeria.
This dialogue strengthened the capacity of faith leaders on climate change and promote understanding ensuring a Nigeria just transition to 100% accessible, affordable and locally owned, Enhanced faith leaders’ knowledge on Nigeria’s NDC/ETP and Implementation stocktake; provisions of the energy transition plan (ETP), NDC, LT-LEDS, IRP and other related climate actions to promote advocacy initiatives as well as strategies to strengthen equitable implementation.
Unpacked the significant outcomes of COP28, particularly as they concern Nigeria/Africa and Develop strategies (Faith leaders press statement) for improving wins for Nigeria/Africa at COP29 and beyond.
